Consult Calls

Improve movement patterns, progress skills, or just learn about a particular fitness related topic!

There are 3 types of consult calls depending on what you’re looking for:

  1. Movement screen – taking a look at 1 area of the body and getting a few exercises to improve how that 1 area is moving.
  2. Skill session – to improve skill (e.g. press handstand, human flag, etc.)
  3. Educational discussion – to chat about a particular area/topic of interest and learn more about it!
Movement Screen

Purpose

To optimize movement patterns to decrease risk of injury, improve performance, and address an asymmetries or abnormal movements in a particular pattern.

What is it?

An hour long video call via google meet where we will analyze how you are moving based on a specific body part (e.g. shoulder, hip, knee, back, etc.) for a particular movement pattern (e.g. throwing, squatting, etc.). We will take a look at both the functional movement pattern and different motions to assess range of motion, flexibility, etc. to determine the cause of the abnormal movement pattern/asymmetry or other areas of deficiency to help with performance and injury risk.
Then we will go over a few exercises to address what is seen during the movement screen.

What to expect

After determining if you are a good fit for the movement screen, you will schedule a session. At the time of scheduling, you will submit payment and sign a contract. At time time of the 1 hour video call via Google Meet, you should be warmed up and wearing appropriate clothing to move around. We will take a look at how you’re moving based on the area you want assessed and the movement you’re trying to improve, go over the findings from the movements you performed, answer any questions you have, and then go over 5-8 exercises to address the findings. Within 1 week of the call, you will receive notes from the session and access to videos for some of the exercises we went over during the call.

Skill Session

Purpose

To help you progress in learning a skill (e.g. pull up, muscle up, handstand, press handstand, etc.)

What is it?

An hour long video call over Google Meet where we take a quick look at how you are moving based on the skill and go over drills to help you progress toward that skill.

Cost

$75 USD

What to expect

After determining if you are a good fit for the skill session, you will schedule a session. Within 48 hours, you will receive an email with a contract to read, sign, and return prior to the call. At least 24 hours prior to the call you will send me an email with at least 2-3 goals for the session and any specific questions you have (you can obviously ask others as things pop up during the call as well!). At the time of the video call, you will make sure you are warmed up, wearing appropriate attire, and have adequate space. During the 1 hour video call via Google Meet, we will take a quick look at how you are moving and then go over drills to help progress the skill. You will receive cues and tips for each drill and the break down of the skill itself. Within 1 week of the call, you will receive notes from the session and access to videos for most of the drills/exercises we went over during the call.

Educational Discussion

Purpose

To educate you about a particular fitness related topic (e.g. core control, posture, general exercise prescription, etc.).

What is it?

An hour long video session where I answer your questions on the topic of interest.

Cost

$60 USD

What to expect

After determining if you are a good fit for the educational discussion, you will schedule a session. Within 48 hours, you will receive an email with a contract to read, sign, and return prior to the call. At least 24 hours prior to the call you will send me an email with at least 2-3 questions and 2-3 goals for the session (you can obviously ask others as things pop up during the call as well!). This way I can have any additional references for you if needed! During the 1 hour video call via Google Meet, we will discuss the questions/topics you wanted to help you reach your goals of the session and answer any questions that may pop up. Within 1 week of the call, you will receive notes from the session.
